Mrs. Stillman Harris Succumbs To Pneumonia
Another young mother was called to her final rest this week in the death of Mrs. Stillman Harris of Cherry Creek, which occurred on Monday morning at seven o’clock at her home after a week’s illness with pneumonia.
Mrs. Harris was known extensively throughout this valley and has a host of relatives and friends who were shocked to hear the sad news and mourn with her husband and little family over her passing.
She was born in Malad December 28, 1892, and has lived here since until April1, 1929, when the family moved to Cherry Creek to make their home. Having been bereft of both her parents, George Hugh and Hannah Thomas, while a very young girl it was necessary for her to make her own way in life by which experiences due to her splendid character she gained great numbers of friends and has endeared herself to their with her always cheerful and congenial nature. She has always been an active member of the L.D.S. church.
On August 29, 1917, she was married in the Salt Lake Temple to Stillman Harris of Cherry Creek who survives her. From this union were born six beautiful children which all survive her, ranging in age from twelve years to sixteen months, Theda, Jack, Dean, Shirley, Helen and Stanley.
She is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Will Stuart of this city; three brothers, George Walter Thomas, of Pocatello; Horatio Thomas of Dayton, Idaho, and Hugh Thomas of Los Angeles; and her step-mother, Mrs. Sarah Ann Thomas of Malad.
Funeral services will be held today, Thursday, at 2:00 p.m. in the stake tabernacle.
