Neva Lewis Eliason

ELIASON, NEVA LEWIS, August 8, 1922 – July 20, 1979

Neva Lewis Eliason, 56, of Malad, passed away July 20 after a short illness. She was born August 8, 1922 in St. John, a daughter of David Jones and Maude Thomas Lewis. She married Ray Chester Eliason April 8, 1942 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She attended school in St. John and Malad and was a graduate of Malad High School.

She was a lifetime resident of the area, living in Holbrook at the ranch and in Malad. An active member of the LDS Church, she has held several positions, including Primary President, counselor and teacher; MIA President; Counselor in the Relief Society presidency and also Relief Society teacher; was Stake Primary inservice leader and had for years been a Sunday School teacher. She had been PTA president, a member of the Fine Arts Club and the Estrella Club.

Survivors include her husband of Malad; five daughters: Jill Eliason, Malad, ID; Lori Rae Eliason, Logan, UT; Mrs. Tim (Jan) Edwards, Malad, ID; Mrs. Greg (Marilee) Flint, Boise; Mrs. Brooks (Cheryl) Clark, Clarkston, UT; seven grandchildren; three sisters; Mrs. Errol (Rhea) Williams, Malad, ID; Mrs. Leon (Shirley) Williams, Ogden, UT; Mrs. Ken (Maudie) Stayner, Gilroy, CA.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 12 noon in the Malad LDS Stake Chapel with Bishop Gordon Griffiths of the 1st Ward officiating. Burial was in the Malad City Cemetery.
