NEIL GRIFFITHS

Neil Griffiths passed away in his home on April 26, 2011 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

He was born March 9, 1932 in Malad, ID to Hugh and Isobel Griffiths. He married Peggy Vaughn on June 20, 1960 and later sealed in the Logan Temple.

Neil was raised on a ranch in Malad where he loved to ride his horse like the wind and work with his dog, Sport. He graduated from Malad High School and later went on to Idaho State University. Neil served an LDS Mission to the Eastern States where he met David O. McKay in person. Neil was always a handyman who could fix anything and seldom went anywhere without his toolbox. He was a member of the Salt lake Gun Club and champion clay target shooter. He was very athletic, keeping in shape by playing racquetball. Neil sang with a Welsh voice and performed in a number of choir groups. Neil spent his career working for Grand Central as a buyer for over 25 years.

Most of all he loved to spend time with his family, especially his wife Peggy, who he had the opportunity to spend seven years traveling the country in a motor home. They later sold their motor home and purchased a home in Puerticots, Mexico on the Baha.

Neil was a well loved and cherished man; we will carry him in our hearts forever.

Neil is survived by his loving wife, Peggy, daughters, Valerie Davis (Kimm), Jacqueline Peterson, Terrie Farley (Kit), sons, Neil Ray Griffiths (Teri), Russell Hugh Griffiths (Heather), 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, sister, Norma Wehril (Rudy), and his two beloved dogs, Woody and Tigre.

Neil is preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Isobel, brother, Darrell, sister, Ida Bowlingbroke.

Funeral services will be held April 30, 2011 at Federal Heights Ward, 1300 E. Fairfax Rd., SLC. Interment at the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
