YEARSLEY, NATHAN DALE, November 6, 1919 – February 20, 2008

Nathan Dale Yearsley, 88, or Orem, passed away February 20, 2008. He was born November 6, 1919, a son of Nathan Melvin and Josephine Jones Yearsley in Woodruff, Idaho.

He married N. Audene Jones, January 14, 1940 in Farmington, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on August 2, 1950.

Dale was a hard worker on the family farm. He was always responsible, driving himself and his classmates to high school on the school bus. He worked through high school at a Shell service station in Malad. After marriage, he and Audene moved to San Francisco where their daughters were born. The family moved to Provo in 1944 where he began work at Geneva Steel, taking night classes to become a Registered Metallurgist in the Rolling Mill and Open Health. Dale retired from his position after 37 years. Upon his retirement, he and Audene traveled extensively until her health declined. Dale took very good care of her until her death.

Dale was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many positions and was a ward and stake clerk for 35 years.

Survivors include his daughters: Merle (Paul) Craig; Janet (Ron) Benson, grandchildren; Travis (Tina) Benson; Nate (Jennifer) Craig, Jared (Bonnie) Craig, Tara Benson Horsley, 21 great-grandchildren, a brother Evan J. Yearsley of Orem, sisters: Rula (Don) Gowers of Nephpi; Theone (Phil) Rees of West Valley, Karen Kent of Alaska.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Audene, sisters: Elmo Smith; Twila Giles; Norma Schiffman; Ina Daniels, grandchildren: Marie Benson; Brad Benson and Lance Craig.

Funeral services will be held February 23, 2008 in the Cherry Hill Stake Center, Orem, Utah. Interment will be in the Orem City Cemetery.
