Morgan Smith

Morgan Dean Smith, 63, of 4530 S. Fifth, died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 1992, at his home in Arbon following an apparent heart attack.

Mr. Smith was born Sept. 18, 1929 in Pocatello, a son of Chester S. and Arvilla May Blair Smith. He attended schools in McCammon, and had made his home in Pocatello and Arbon.

He married Jetta Nadine Lewis Nov. 13, 1982 in Pocatello.

A veteran of the Korean conflict, he served with the U.S. Army in Korea.

He had farmed in Arbon Valley, then for 14 months worked at the Deseret Industries Store, and then returned to farming. He was a member of the Arbon branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and enjoyed attending church. He had served as secretary to the elders’ quorum. Also, he enjoyed reading books, attending rodeos and football games, hunting and being with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Jetta, Pocatello; one stepdaughter, Marie Kay Bradley, Arimo; two brothers, Glenn Smith, Pocatello, and Frank Smith, Berkeley, Calif.; three sisĀ­ters, Bernice Florke, Malad, Catherine Neal, Danville, Calif.; and Nancy Harris, Lakewood, Calif.; Brenda Smith, a sister-in-law of Grace; and four grandchildren, Julia Dawn Stoor, Steven Dean Norton, Jetta Marie Bradley and Kevin Shane Bradley.

Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, Nov. 7, in the LDS stake center, 655 S. Grant Ave., with president of the branch, Stephen Lusk officiating. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. Fourth. Interment will be in the Arbon Cemetery.
