Mildred Howell Jenkins Child Kay

Mildred Howell Jenkins Child Kay, 92, died Sunday, April 25, 1993 in South Jordan, of causes incident to age.

She was born Dec. 30, 1900 in Woodruff, Idaho, a daughter of Thomas Jefferson and May Jan Heaton Howell.

She married John Merlin Jenkins on Oct. 8, 1918, in the Logan LDS Temple. He died March 20, 1967. She married Roy Stephens Child on Nov. 6, 1969, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died Sept.10, 1977. She married Loren Kay on Oct 9, 1982, in the Ogden LDS Temple.

She lived in Weber County most of her life.

She was an active member of the LDS Church and had held various positions.

Mrs. Kay had been very active in Community Youth Services in Woodruff, Idaho. She was also a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.

She had worked at the Naval Supply Depot and Hill Air Force Base.

Surviving are her husband of Hooper; two sons and two daughters, Ardell M. Jenkins and wife Nelda, Tucson, Ariz; Russell W. Jenkins and wife Ruth A., South Jordan; Mrs. Clare (Jean) Bowden, Magna; Mrs. Joan Allen, Ogden; 21 grandchildren, 68 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren.

Also surviving is one sister, Grace H. Baugh, Logan.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Herald T. Jenkins and Kenneth Lon Jenkins.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd, (Ogden, Utah).

Friends may call at the mortuary Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday 10 to 10:45 a.m.
