MCGREGOR LAMAR PANTER

McGregor Lamar Panter, 69, passed away peacefully at the McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah, due to complications of a farming accident on Saturday, October 8, 2005. He was the oldest of two children born to Lorin J. and Lola McGregor Panter on May 6, 1936, in Preston, Idaho.

He married Ranae Jensen on July 9, 1954, in Soda Springs, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple. To this union six children were born: Vicki (Kevin) Heath of Idaho Falls, Idaho; Julie (Kelly) Kidd of Glendale, Arizona; Wendy (David) Warburton of American Fork, Utah; Robin (Charmaine) Panter of Surrey, England; Mark (Connie) Panter of Wellsville, Utah; and Kristi (Logan) Sorensen of Downey, Idaho. His posterity grew through the years with twenty-three grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his only sibling, Spence Panter.

He spent most of his life working two jobs to support his family, but his greatest passion in life was faming on his family ranch in Thatcher, Idaho. HE was a hard working man and instilled that ethic in his children. He loved life to his fullest and spent most of his time outdoors. He loved Mound Valley with all his heart and soul. He found it hard to even vacation without worrying about the farm.

He was a proud man and hated to ask for assistance and tried to do everything on his own. His pride and joy was his posterity and it kept him going throughout his many years. He will always be a hero in our eyes. He had charisma and most people that knew him became long time acquaintances.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was a great teacher and had great knowledge of the gospel teachings. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2005, at noon in the Grace, Idaho, Stake Center. Interment was in the Grace Cemetery.
