Max “Lucky” LeRoy Estep
January 22, 1955 – October 13, 2023

Harrisville, UT- Max “Lucky” Leroy Estep, 68, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2023. He was born January 22, 1955, in McMinnville Oregon to Walter Max Estep and Joan Darlene Tippetts Estep.

Lucky was the second son born to Walt and Joan Estep. He was born a fighter with a zest for life. Which earned him the nickname “Lucky”. He was an energetic mischievous boy, that loved his siblings, and he had many friends in the neighborhood. Lucky joined the Military Reserves in 1974. Lucky had a few different jobs, but his favorite was driving for Swift with the love of his life Sandy, and their dog Baby. He also enjoyed working with his dad, brother-in-law Jim, and good friend Paulie at H&A sales. We all have memories of him tinkering around the shop with them all. He enjoyed gardening, and spending time with his mom, and family. Lucky also had a great love for Coffee he frequented the Stagecoach, Wansgaurds, and Harmons for coffee each morning. Many of his family and friends enjoyed spending that time with him over a cup of Joe.

We have many wonderful memories of Lucky. Most are based around his carefree and fun spirit. Lucky was the comedian and prankster of the family. He lovingly teased all his siblings, nieces, and nephews. He was always trying to get us to “pull his finger”, calling us Turds, or having a funny joke. He was able to make any baby giggle and was often called Uncle Ucky by the littles. We all remember playing the hand slap speed game with him or trying to get him to stick his teeth out at us, which he would do and make us all giggle when we were younger. We also loved teasing him on the occasions he was a little onery, stubborn, and bullheaded.

Lucky had a way of making even a sad day brighter. His smile was infectious, and his eyes would gleam with that same brightness. He always had time to visit with us. It didn’t matter what he was doing he would stop, and you knew you had his full attention. He called many people every morning just to wish them a good day, check on our kids, or to tell us he loved us. He had a laugh that would fill a room.

Lucky is one of the few that loved with his full heart. He loved fiercely with a true Christ like love for everyone. It didn’t matter who you were or what your history was. He took care of numerous people that the world wouldn’t give a second chance to or that that most would just pass by. He provided many a roof over their heads and a safe place to be. He would literally give the shirt off his back to help anyone.

We will miss being able to drive by the old house to see him smiling and waving at us. Lucky will be greatly missed by his family, Siblings: Vanessa Bidlack, Bobbie (Gaylyn) Garrett, and brother-in-law, Gary Brees. Many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, his loyal grey companion Baby, longtime friend Paulie, and many other dear family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Sandy West, Parents: Walter and Joan Estep, Brother: Merlin Estep, sister: Cindy Brees, and brother-in-law and Jim Bidlack.

Any donations that anyone would like to make, please donate to a shelter near you or just make someone’s life a little easier as he did.

Lucky will be laid to rest in Plymouth Cemetery next to his beloved family in a private family graveside.
