John, Mattie Williams. Died December 7, 1960.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mattie Williams John, age 69, who died Wednesday at 8 a.m. at the Oneida hospital of a heart ailment will be held at the Samaria LDS ward chapel Saturday at 1 p.m. with Bishop Carl A. Evans officiating.

Mrs. John was born July 23, 1891 at Gwenford, a daughter of John H. and Rebecca Morse Williams. She was married to David E. John, Jan. 18, 1911 at Gwenford. Reared and educated in Samaria, she was a member of the LDS church. She served as an officer and president of the YLMIA, Relief Society class leader and block teacher; teacher in Sunday school, Mutual and Primary; Member of the LDS stake choir and Singing Mothers. She was also active in the Red Cross and Polio Foundation drives.

Surviving are her husband, Samaria; sons and daughters, David W., DeVerl, Eldon L., Samaria, Boyd W., Mrs. Robert (Sara) Erickson, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Lester (Edna) Williams, Pocatello; Mrs. Gordon (Mary) Griffiths, Mrs. Garth (Rebecca) Thomas, Malad; 19 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mrs. Morris Stuart, Mrs. William John, Mrs. Ora Jones, Malad; Mrs. Lewis Telesco, Fresno, Calif. Two sons preceded her in death.

Friends may call at the home of Mrs. Griffiths, 288 N. 200 W., Friday evening and Saturday prior. Burial will be at the Samaria Cemetery, directed by Benson Funeral Home.
