Mattie R. Earl Facer

FACER, MATTIE R. EARL, April 17, 1924 – February 23, 2005

OGDEN – Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend returned home to the arms of her heavenly Father on February 12, 2005.

She was born April 17, 1924 in Malad, Idaho, the daughter of Viola Delila Richards and Charles R. Earl.

She married Evan A. Facer on July 25, 1942 in Woodruff, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt lake Temple on April 27, 1970.

Mattie and Evan spent their life together traveling the world from Texas, California, Bermuda, Washington, France and then retiring in Ogden. Mattie loved people, she would talk to anyone and soon they were her friend. She loved music and loved to sing.

She worked at the Defense Depot in Ogden, retiring in 1986. While she was there she sang with the Depot Aires. Mattie loved to play cards and games. She loved to go camping.

Mother was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a faithful visiting teacher for many years. She loved to be in road shows and she sang in the ward choir.

She is survived by her husband, Evan of Ogden; three daughters and two sons: LaRue (Doug) Wingest, Las Vegas, NV; Lorraine (Michael) Bowen, Hyde Park, UT; Terry (Kathy) Facer, West Valley, UT; Larry (Verna) Facer, Ogden, UT; Pam (Mark) Randall, Ogden; Charles Earl (deceased). She raised one granddaughter, Sherrie (Kenny) Pribble, Las Vegas, NV; and two great grandsons, Jeffrey (Leslie) Hurst, Ogden, UT; and Christopher Hurst, Ogden, UT, whom she considered as sons. She had 13 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild due in July.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Cle peck and her grandparents, Martha and Parley Richards who raised her.

Funeral services will be held February 15, 2005 at the Canyon View LDS Chapell, Ogden, Utah. Interment, Myers Evergreen Memorial Park, Ogden.
