SERVICES HELD FOR MRS. MATTIE THOMAS

Funeral services were held Saturday at the Malad Third Ward LDS Chapel for Mrs. Mattie P. Thomas, 66, who died August 25, 1965 following a short illness.

Bishop Lon Corbridge conducted the services. Espy Thomas offered the family prayer at the funeral home; LaMar Thomas, invocation; Royal B. Jensen, benediction. At the chapel speakers were: Dr. Thos W. Richards, Bishop Leo D. Williams and Estella D. Jones, who read the obituary. Vocal solos were presented by Helen E. Jones and Jenkin L. Palmer; Dona and Mary Alice Williams sang a duet. Organ prelude and postlude were played by Mae E. Williams.

At Malad City Cemetery, the dedicatory prayer was offered by Claude Thomas. Flowers were arranged by members of the Third Ward Relief Society. Casket bearers were Roy Thomas, Ralph Fink, Odell Price, Glen Price, Bland Williams and Jay D. Price. Benson Funeral Home directed the burial.

Mrs. Thomas was born June 14, 1899, a daughter of Thomas and Janet Daniels Price. She was married to D. LeRoy Thomas December 22, 1920 in Malad. The marriage was solemnized June 8, 1951 in the Logan LDS Temple.

She attended Malad schools and was an active member of the LDS Church.

Survivors include her husband at Malad; two sons, Clair L. Thomas, Idaho Falls; Gerald P. Thomas, Malad; a daughter, Mrs. Clair (Joyce) Hill, Idaho Falls; 12 grandchildren; three brothers, Henry Price, Glendale, CA; Thomas D. Price, Ogden; John D. Price, Pocatello; three sisters, Mrs. Edith Fink, Rupert; Mrs. Ethel Thomas and Mrs. Elva Williams, both of Malad.
