Marylyn Rhoads , 56, 901 Jones Drive, died Saturday [July 19, 1986] in the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City after an illness.

She was born April 12, 1930 in Malad, to Lynn Thomas and Verda Ellis Gibson.

She married Gail “Dusty” Rhoads in Pocatello March 23, 1951. He died April 7, 1981.

Mrs. Rhoads worked for 16 years in registration at Idaho State University. She was a community volunteer, having helped establish a bowling program for nursing home residents as well as having worked with elderly and disadvantaged people.

She had received the Silver Circle in recognition of 25 years in Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and was president of City Council and president of each chapter she was in, as well as having held other positions.

Mrs. Rhoads enjoyed cooking and playing cards.

She was a member of the 26th LDS Ward where she had been a visiting teacher.

Surviving are one son, Gary, Lexington, Kentucky; three daughters, Mrs. Roger (Janis Gail) Rhoads Chase, Mrs. Dennis (Susan) Fullmer , Terri Dianne Rhoads , and her mother all of Pocatello; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death, besides her husband , by a son, Robert David, and a brother, David.

Funeral services were Tuesday at Hawthorne and Eldredge , with Bishop Mark Lyden officiating.

Burial was in the Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
