Mary Sue Sorenson Evans, 76, wife of Daniel J. Evans, passed away Thursday, Jan. 2, 1997, in Las Vegas, Nev.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 7, 1997 in the Benson-Horsley Funeral Home.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, Jan. 6 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Tuesday prior to services.

Mary Susan Sorenson Evans passed away January 2, 1997, at her home in Las Vegas, Nevada.
She was born March 2, 1920, in Malad City, Idaho, to Chauncey and Josephine Sorenson. She had three sisters and two brothers: Anita, Leyanda, Barbara, Fred and Leon. She attended elementary, junior high and high school in Malad, graduating from Malad High School in 1938.
She married Dan J. Evans on June 3, 1939. They had three children: Danny, Linda, and Heidi. Danny passed away in 1958.
In 1966 they moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, where Sue worked at Montgomery Wards in the Drapery Department, for 20 years. She was married to Dan for 57 years and is survived by her husband and two daughters. She had 11 grandchildren – 10 living, Ben passing away in 1978. She had one great-grandchild, born December 29, 1996.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 7, 1997 at 11:00 a.m. in the Benson-Horsley Funeral Home in Malad. Larry E. Coles, a son-in-law offered family prayer prior to services.
Bishop Gordon Crowther, a cousin, officiated at the funeral, with Myra Jean John, a niece, playing the prelude and postlude music. The invocation was offered by granddaughter Suzanne Barry, nephew Dennis Williams gave a life sketch; and niece, Jill Blaisdell and Les Braker sang a vocal duet, “Beautiful Savior”.
Fred Sorenson, a brother, gave the eulogy; Shauna Jackson, a niece, read a poem; then Jill and Les sang another duet, “The Wind Beneath My Wings”. The benediction was offered by grandson, Lawrence L. Coles.
The flowers were cared for my grandchildren. Interment was at the Malad City Cemetery, where Larry E. Coles offered the dedicatory prayer.
Casket bearers were Jack Williams, Don Sager, Eddie Jones, Kevin Coles, Marc Barry and Scottie Godino. Honorary bearers were Ralph Jones, Dennis Williams, Danny Williams, Dennis John, Kenny Evans, Richard Goddard, Dave Edwards, Dale Christensen, Leon Sorenson and Rocky Magee.
