Mary R. Richards

Mary (Mae) R. Richards, 91, died Monday, March 9, 1992 at an Ogden nursing home.

She was born September 10, 1900 in Henderson Creek, a daughter of Charles William Bell and Elizabeth Parkinson Bell.

She married Victor (Bud) Richards December 31, 1923, in Malad. The marriage was solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple January 8, 1988. They recently celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary.

After her marriage, Mae and her husband lived on a farm south of Malad. She was a homemaker and a helpmate to her husband.

She was a member of the Malad 2nd and 5th Wards. She served in the Primary, Young Womens, Sunday School, was a Visiting Teacher, sang in the choir and was a ward librarian.

Surviving are her husband and their children, Lynn Richards, Soda Springs, Idaho, and Nelda R. Telford, Ogden, Utah. Also surviving are a son, Daniel Hall, Murray, Utah, a daughter, Helen Sweigard, Gold Beach, Oregon; two sisters, Verna Earl, Salt Lake City, Fay Lundquist, Malad; one brother, Delen Bell, Malad; 12 grandchildren, 20 great­grandchildren, 13 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.

Funeral services will be Friday at 12:00 Noon at the Benson Horsley Funeral Home in Malad with Bishop Craig Sperry officiating. Friends may call at the Benson-Horsley Funeral Home at Malad, Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 11:00 to 11:45 a.m. Interment will be in the Malad City Cemetery.
