Mary Jean Hughes Hess Schofield, 83 passed away at Davis Hospital Sunday, August 15, 2010.
She was born November 9, 1927 to Gomer and Mary Edith Bolingbroke Hughes in Malad, Idaho. She attended Mary High School. She married Lowell Jay Hess on April 21, 1947 in the Logan LDS Temple. Lowell Jay died on January 13, 1984. She then married Raymond Richie Schofield in September 2005.
Mary worked at Brigham Apparel and retired from La-Z-Boy Utah. She loved to garden, go on trips, fishing, quilting, sewing and she loved to visit people, especially children. She was a member of the LDS church and served in many callings.
Surviving are her sons, Lowell H. Hess (Shirley) and Gomer Jay Hess; daughters, Deborah Stokes (Brent) and Teresa Jones (Brig); 14 grandchildren; 25 ½ great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Preceding her in death are her parents, husband, and daughter, Nannette Shaw.
Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 21, 2010 at the Belmont Church 16925 North 5200 West Riverside, Utah. Friends and family may call 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday August 20, 2010 at Rudd Funeral Home, 1234 South Main St. Garland and Saturday from 9:30-10:40 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Plymouth Cemetery.
