Marie Barbara Luker Stout, 6 November 1922

BRIGHAM CITY – Marie Barbara Luker Stout departed this life on April 2, 1996 at her home in Brigham City.

Born November 6, 1922 in Samaria, ID, she was the daughter of Brazill and Wilhelmina Weger Luker. She married Donald D. Stout on August 4, 1943 in the Salt lake LDS Temple.

Marie was a stalwart member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in many callings, including Stake Missionary, Relief Society President, YW MIA President. She devoted her life to serving her family, the Lord and doing family history work. She has lived in Germany, Italy and the Azore Islands where her home was always open to the servicemen, friends and the missionaries there.

She was always given strong support to many good causes. Her family is grateful for her example of faithfulness and courage. She showed us the happiness of solid values, plain living and high thinking.

Marie is survived by her husband, Don, and children: Lt. Col. Richard (Joan) Stout, Colorado springs, CO; Roger (Mary Ann) Stout, Salt lake City; Clifton (Debbie) Stout, Sunman, IN; Marlowe (Judy) Stout, Brigham City; Michele (Kerry) Hedin, West Jordan; Lt. Alan (Janae) Stout, Powder Springs, CA; Eugene (Denise) Stout, Brigham City; 33 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Also, a sister Linda (Richard) Oliver, Tiburon, CA; and a brother Nephi Michael Luker of Pocatello, ID.

Marie was preceded in death by her sisters, Jenny, Elsie, Sarah, brother Edward and a son Jeffrey Paul.

Funeral services will be held April 13 at the Brigham First Ward with Bishop Braithwaite officiating. Interment at the Brigham City Cemetery.
