Mrs. Margaret Nicholas, 82, died Saturday at the home of a daughter in Los Angeles, Calif.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the St. John LDS ward chapel with Bishop Melvin Yearsley officiating and giving remarks.
Prayer at the funeral home was offered by John L. Evans; at the church, Arch Harris offered the invocation. James Madsen, benediction; Griff Jenkins gave the biography and remarks. Thomas W. Richards and J.D. Price were the speakers; Jenkin Palmer and Mrs. Kate Jones rendered vocal solos and LuJean Peterson played the prelude and postlude music. James B. Jones dedicated the grave at the Malad Cemetery.
Mrs. Nicholas was born June 19, 1872 at Glamorganshire, Wales, a daughter of Benjamin Evans and Mary Williams Evans. She came to the United States with her parents when she was a small girl. She was married to Wm. H. Nicholas Feb. 21, 1895 and made her home in Oneida county until two years ago when she moved to California. Mr. Nicholas died 14 years ago. Mrs. Nicholas was a member of the LDS Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Mary Hansen, Los Angeles, Calif.; Mrs. Ethel Marlow, San Francisco, Calif.; 10 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, two sisters: Mrs. Mary Costello, Denver, Colorado; Mrs. Ed Hill, Pocatello, Idaho.
