Mae Elizabeth Evans Treasure, 23 Nov. 1911

DOWNEY, IDAHO – Mrs. Mae Elizabeth Evans Treasure, 51, Downey, died January 17, 1963 at her home of cancer.

Mrs. Treasure was born November 23, 1911 in Malad, a daughter of William and Elizabeth Jones Evans. She was married to David Treasure on April 28, 1930 in Malad. She was a graduate of Malad High School. She was active in the LDS Church.

Survivors are her husband, and one son, David Mark Treasure, Downey; three daughters, Debbie Lou Treasure, Mrs. Rich (Elizabeth) Vaughan, both of Downey; Mrs. Farrell (Bonnie) Jenkins, Pocatello, ID; six grandchildren, two brothers and one sister, Fay J. Evans, Malad; D. LaVor Evans, Rancho Cordova, CA; Mrs. Bryon (Pearl) Jones, Idaho Falls.

Funeral services were held January 21, 1963 at the Downey Second LDS Ward chapel with Bishop Stanford Christensen officiating. LaVar Johnson gave the family prayer. At the chapel Pearl Davis played the prelude and postlude, Ted Davis offered the invocation, Mary Christensen, Margaret Boam and Muriel Wilding, a vocal selection. The Life Sketch was given by June Morrison and speakers were W.O. Barnes and Pres. James Criddle. A vocal duet was by Phyllis Evans and Tyndale Evans and a vocal solo by Bert Marley. Bishop Christensen gave closing remarks and the benediction was offered by Lewis McFarland. The accompanist was Marie Zapitello.

Concluding rites at the Downey Cemetery with Earl McClurg giving the dedicatory prayer. Flowers were carried by the Downey Second Ward Primary officers and Relief Society. Casket bearers were Fay J. Evans, Gary Evans, Byron Jones, Steve Treasure, Dee Treasure and David Treasure.
