LYNN RAY WILLIAMS
Lynn Ray Williams, 68, also known as Shorty and C.W. passed away peacefully February 4, 2011, surrounded by his three children in Pomona, California.
He was born July 7, 1942 in Malad, ID to LeRoy and Elsie Gleed Williams. He was the youngest of three sons. Lynn was raised in Ogden, UT and graduated from Ogden High School in 1960. He served an LDS mission to Australia from 1962-1964.
He married Linda L. Ewing on Janaury 20, 1967. From this union they were blessed with three great children, Troy, Tiffany and Brandon. Several years later they were divorced.
Lynn worked at Hill AFB for a few years and was part owner of a Western Auto Store in Roy with his two brothers in the early seventies.
In 1975 the family moved to California where Lynn pursued his dream in opening his own business (C.W. Moss Parts) selling reproduction and original vintage Ford car parts. He started his dream out of his garage while working at the Marine Corp Air Station, El Toro, CA and could be found traveling to many swap meets and car shows throughout the United States. After much hard work, he opened a retail store in Pomona, CA. Many of his customers would seek him out to find the rare parts for their classic Fords.
In the mid 1980’s he applied his ability of finding vintage Ford parts to finding houses to renovate and hold as investments.
He married ShaRon Nelson on April 24, 2002. They were later divorced.
He is survived by his three children and their spouses, Troy L. (Kelly) Williams of California; Tiffany (Bart) Harris of Layton, UT; and Brandon T. Williams of California; five grandchildren, Taylor Williams, Joshua Williams, Madelyn Williams, Hunter Harris and Abbey Harris. He is also survived by an older brother, Gordon (Anita) Williams and a sister-in-law, Dolores Williams.
Lynn was preceded in death by his parents, LeRoy and Elsie Williams, a brother, Gary Williams, and a granddaughter, Kaitlyn Rose Williams.
Funeral services will be held February 12, 2011 at noon at Country Oaks Ward, Layton, UT. Interment, Washington Heights Memorial Park, Ogden, Utah.
