Luzelle Sorenson Eliason, 2 February 1912

TREMONTON, UT – Beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, Luzelle Sorenson Eliason, age 90, died of natural causes on May 2, 2002 in Tremonton, UT.

She was born February 2, 1912 in Mendon, UT to Parley and Rachel Sorenson.

She married Bert Eliason, Jr. of North String, ID on February 10, 1934. The marriage was solemnized a year later in the Logan, UT Temlple. Bert preceded her in death on August 1, 1983.

She was devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving as a ward Relief Society president, Primary president and served many years as a teacher. She graduated from Malad High School and Utah State University. She was always an avid reader. At age 60 she began oil painting and became an excellent artist. She served her community as local and regional PTA president. She enjoyed writing and was a correspondent for the Deseret News, and had articles published there and in the Relief Society magazine. She and Bert spent their married years in Snowville, UT, Downey and Malad, ID.

She is survived by a brother, Myron P. Sorenson (Beatrice), of Malad, ID; children, Patricia Goodro (Jim), South Jordan, UT; Dr. Clair Eliason (Annette), Rockford, IL; David Eliason (Gay Lynn), Tremonton, UT; and daughter in law, Sue Taylor (Jeff), Pocatello, ID. She has 25 grandchildren and 42 great grandchildren. Her husband, Bert, a son, Richard, a sister, Devola Thompson and her parents preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held May 8, 2002 at the Tremonton Fourth Ward. Burial will be in the
Downey, ID Cemetery.
