

HILL, LUGENE PETERSON, March 4, 1939 – August 6, 2006
Lugene Peterson Hill, 67, of Malad and wife of John C. Hill, passed away on Sunday, August 6, 2006 in the Portneuf Medical Center.
She was born March 4, 1939 in Malad, Idaho, a daughter of Woodrow W. and Mary Matilda Edwards Peterson. She was raised and educated in Malad and was a graduate of Malad High School, class of 1957.
She married Steven Showell and they later divorced. To this marriage was born a daughter, Cathy Leigh. Lugene married john C. Hill on December 20, 1967 in Elko, Nevada.
She had been employed with Thiokol for 15 years and later worked for the Malad office of Farm Bureau Insurance Co. Lugene and John also worked together on their ranch in Daniels for several years.
She loved cooking, tending her beautiful garden and yard, sewing and being a homemaker. She also enjoyed raising her St. Bernard dogs.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she had served in various callings through the years.
She is survived by her husband, John C., Malad; daughter; Cathy (Gordon) King, Chandler, AZ; 4 grandsons; Derek J. Madsen, Hanford, CA.; Elder Deke W. Madsen (currently serving an LDS mission to the Maryland/Baltimore area); Dyston R. Madsen and Donovan L. Madsen, both of Chandler, AZ.; a brother; Mark (Loa) Peterson of Malad. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 11, 2006 at 12 noon in the Malad LDS 7th Ward chapel. Friends may call at the Horsley Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. and on Friday at the funeral home from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow in the St. John Cemetery.
