Edna Elzira Croney Hill, 12 December 1918

Edna Elzira Croney Hill, 83, passed away October 1, 2002 at the Oneida County Nursing Home in Malad, ID.

She was born December 12, 1918 in Bancroft, ID, the daughter of Moses and Lois Rawlins Croney. She graduated from lava High School in 1936.

She married Matthew Hill on December 23, 1937 in Malad, ID.

She devoted many years of her life to rearing and nurturing her children and helping her husband farm and raise cattle on the family homestead in Elkhorn. She often cooked for the hay men and was well known for her fried chicken.

Later, she was employed for more than ten years at Scott Land and Title as a legal secretary. She was a longtime member oand past president of the Fraternal Order of Eagles ladies auxiliary.

She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, bowling, gardening, music and dancing, camping and cooking, and spending time with family friends.

She is survived by her children, Gary (Kathryn) Hill of Malad; Stephen (Thella) Hill of Malad; Colleen (Val) Bulow of Thatcher, UT; Teri (Ed) Ahrens of Boise, ID; Tammy (James) Slagowski of Lehi, UT; one sister, Ethel Rowsell of Grace, ID; 19 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Matthew, her sons, Kenneth (infant) and Robert, her daughter, Kaye, her sisters, Ociella, Maude, Mabel, Elsie, Veda and one brother, Samuel.
