LUCY WALKER THORPE, 79, DIED SEPTEMBER 25

Bishop Merlin Bastian officiated at funeral services Saturday in Pleasantview LDS Chapel for Mrs. Lucy Walker Thorpe, age 79, who died September 25, 1974 at Brigham City of cancer.

Mrs. Thorpe was born July 28, 1896, at Rockland to William Arthur and Phoebe Ann Wight Walker. She married Thomas Thorpe Jan. 7, 1914 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She received her education in Pleasantview and Samaria schools. She was active in the LDS Church. She moved to Brigham City from Pleasantview in 1970.

Survivors include her husband, Brigham City; three sons and six daughters, Clyde, Clearfield; Eugene, Ogden; Thomas C., Brigham City; Mrs. max (Phoebe) King and Mrs. LaVern (Joyce) Colton, both of Malad; Mrs. Nolan (Bernice) Armstrong, Mrs. William E. (Gladys) Evans, Ogden; Mrs. Cleon (Lovina) Spencer, Sylmar, CA and Mrs. Frank (Ione) LaToure, Helena, MT; 41 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren, one brother, Wallace Walker, Provo.

Speakers were Bishop Roger Facer, Bishop William L. Sparks. Family prayer was offered by Thomas Calvin Thorpe; invocation by Bishop John Roderick and benediction, LaVern W. Colton. Special music included a vocal trio, Gladys Evans, Joyce T. Colton and Vonda Thorpe and solo, Foster Ipsen. Accompanists were Patsy Bybee, who also played prelude and postlude music.

At Pleasantview Cemetery, Bishop G. Max King offered the dedicatory prayer.

Pleasantview Relief Society members, Mrs. Blaisdell, president, and granddaughters carried flowers.
