ROSE, LUCY B., October 29, 1917 – February 15, 2004

NORTH OGDEN – Lucy B. Rose, 86, passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 15, 2004 in Malad, Idaho at the home of her son.

She was born October 29, 1917 in West Warren, UT, a daughter of William and Lucy Caroline Clark Bennington. In 1934 Lucy married Arthur E. Rose. Art passed away on February 10, 1989. Even after Art passed away, she remained active and was proud of taking care of her yard and garden.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Lucy was an avid gardener, sharing her harvest with many family members and friends. She was famous for her green thumb and could make anything grow. Lucy enjoyed traveling, especially the cruises that she took with her friends.

During their retirement years, Art and Lucy spent many winters on the Arizona desert. They enjoyed fathering rocks and desert hardwood. They made many friends during their time in Arizona. Lucy had a special gift of nature. She loved the outdoors, her back yard and patio were truly a paradise. Oh how we will miss the beautiful flowers she planted and pampered throughout the summer. Her tomatoes were aplenty and always offered by the box. She loved and fed the birds and they too loved her garden. Lucy was very conservative. She always made do. She could truly make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear.

Surviving are her son, Earl Rose, three grandchildren, Mark (Tami) Rose, Brett (Charlene) rose and Lori Jo (Dale) Rasmussen, ten great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter due in May.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters and six brothers.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary. Interment, Warren City Cemetery.
