Hellen McLean Rose, 17 March 1918

Hellen McLean Rose, 77, longtime Malad resident, passed away March 6, 1996 in the Bannock Regional Medical Center in Pocatello.

She was born March 17, 1918 in Stone, ID, a daughter of Andrew Gordon and Elvira Elizabeth Vest McLean. She was a graduate of Bear River High School.

On September 23, 1936, she married Gen Eldridge Rose in Malad, and their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple, Sept. 14, 1970.

Hellen was a devoted wife and mother, and with her husband had farmed in the Arbon Valley for many years. Following Gean’s death, she operated a pallet and box business in Malad and then worked in the Idaho State Auditors Office until her retirement, when she returned to Malad.

She is survived by three sons and one daughter: Derrell Gen Rose of Tuscon, AZ; Garry, and wife Janice Rose of Farmington, UT; Rodney and wife Geri Rose of Buhl, ID; Jeanene Rose of Malad. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one brother and one sister, and two grandsons, David Eugene Rose and Michael Scott Rose.

Funeral services will be March 16 in the Malad LDS Fifth Ward Chapel. Burial will be in the Hyrum City, UT Cemetery.
