Luanna Williams Parker

PARKER, LUANNA WILLIAMS, June 5, 1932 – February 10, 2006

Luanna Williams Parker, LaMirada, California, passed away February 10, 2006. She was born June 5, 1932 in Gwenford, Idaho, the daughter of Llewellyn (Bud) and Mary Davis Williams.

She attended elementary school in Samaria and Malad and was a graduate of Malad High School. Following high school she worked for the State of Idaho in Burley and at Hill Field. After two years of working she enrolled at the University of Southern California. While attending school she was also employed by the United Nations working for the Iranians and Brazilians. She graduated from U.S.C. with a major in Political Science and minor in Education.

While attending school she met John M. Parker. They were married in Las Vegas, Nevada on August 27, 1955. They purchased a home in LaMirada, California and have always resided there.

After her children became school age, she pursued a teaching career and taught in various school districts in the LaMirada area. In 1995 she retired, but continued to do substitute teaching. John passed away two weeks before she retired.

She is survived by two sons, Tony and John; a daughter, Shauna (Steve) Ives; three granddaughters; two brothers, Gary (Rulene) Williams, Joel (Vera June) Williams and a sister, Eileen (Keith) John. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

Funeral services were held February 15 at the LaMirada Ward Chapel. Burial was in the Forest Lawn Cemetery.
