Lola Hyatt Hess, 76, died September 15, 1997, at her home in Deweyville. She was born October 15, 1920 in Holbrook, Idaho; a daughter of LeRoy and Sevenna Loveland Hyatt. She married Glenn Hess, October 15, 1941 in Malad, Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple.
Lola was reared and educated in Deweyville. She and her husband lived there for a short time time after their marriage. They also lived in Plymouth and Garland and had moved back to Deweyville in 1954 where they had resided until the time of her death.
She was a member of the Deweyville LDS Ward and had served in the past as a primary and Sunday school teacher, counselor in the Relief Society and was very active in the genealogy program.
Lola will always be remembered for being an excellent seamstress and a gifted knitter.
Surviving is her husband of Deweyville; two daughters and three sons; Sharon (Buck) Hill, Deweyville; July (Keith) Lisonbee, Green River, WY; Doyle (RuthAnn )Hess, Taylor; Ron Hess, Deweyville, Neal Hess, Tremonton, 18 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Surviving are two sisters, Wanda Hunsaker, Deweyville; Sevenna Litcht, Roy.
She was preceded in death by one son, Dale Hess.
Funeral services will be Thurs. September 18, 1997 1:00 p.m. at the Deweyville-Riverview Ward Chapel, 10750 No. Hwy 69 with Bishop William F. Goring officiating. Friends may call Wed. Sept. 17 from 6-8 p.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 N. 100 E. Tremonton and Thurs from 11:30 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. at the church.
Interment in the Deweyville Cemetery.
