Service Scheduled Friday For Mrs. Hess
Funeral service will be held 1 p.m., Friday, April 24th, for Mrs. Ida Isabell Nish Hess, age 74, who died Tuesday afternoon at the Oneida Hospital after a long illness.
Service will be at the St. John LDS Ward Chapel with Bishop James Madson officiating. Friends may call at the Benson Funeral Home Thursday evening and Friday prior to service. Burial will be at the St. John Cemetery directed by the Benson Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hess was born August 13, 1889 at East Portage, Utah, a daughter of Robert and Charity Rebecca Mason Nish, and was educated at East Portage and Plymouth. She was married to John Lawrence Hess, April 6, 1906, at Malad. A member of the L.D.S. Church, she was active in the St. John Ward. She also belonged to the Oneida Co. Chapter of American War Mothers. The couple lived at St. John until moving to Malad in 1956.
Surviving are her husband, four sons and two daughters: Edward L. Hess, Jerome, Idaho; Floyd R. Hess and Lyle E. Hess, both Malad; Dewey N. Hess, Mrs. DaMaughan (Nelda) Tubbs, both Pocatello; Mrs. Milbourne (Marguerite) Mills, Malad City; 17 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; two sisters; Mrs. Ervin (Zella) Hess; Plymouth; Mrs. Clark (Ettie) Rudd, Riverside, Utah.
