Lola Roe

STONE – Lola Eliza Pack Roe, 96, former Stone resident, died Wednesday January 1, 1986 in Clearfield, Utah.

She was born March 11, 1889, in Deseret, Utah, the daughter of Erastus Frederick and Eliza Lucinda Moody Pack. She was reared and educated from Brigham Young Academy with a teaching certificate.

She taught in Stone for three years and then she married William Ray Roe, September 7, 1915 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. Mr. Roe died March 17, 1961.

She was a lifetime resident of Stone where they farmed. She was active in the LDS Church and served as a counselor in the ward and stake MIA; she was a counselor in the Relief Society presidency; and an excellent teacher and taught in every organization.

She was an excellent seamstress, quilter and cook and she loved to retell stories.

She is survived by two sons, Weston L. Roe, Mobato, California; Russell P. Roe, Stone; three daughters, Mrs. Gerald (Rayola) Palmer, Oakland, California; Mrs. D.J. (Verdeen) Larsen, Fillmore, Utah; and Mrs. Harold (Monette) Pratt, Syracuse, Utah; 27 grandchildren; 44 greatgrandchildren; two step-greatgrandchildren; and one sister, Alta Hickman, Snowville, Utah.

Funeral services Tuesday were at noon in the Curlew Ward Chapel with Bishop Lyle Arbon officiating. Burial in the Snowville, Utah Cemetery.
