Lloyd W. Smith Dies Suddenly

Stricken with a heart ailment, Lloyd W. Smith, 52, died suddenly at the family home Wednesday.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 7, at 1 p.m. in the Samaria L.D.S. ward chapel with Bishop Carl A. Evans officiating. Friends may call at the family home in Samaria Friday evening and Saturday until time of services. Interment will be in the Malad City Cemetery with the Benson Funeral Home in charge.

Mr. Smith, a son of Thomas A. and Eliza Middleton Smith, was born December 5, 1902 at Willard, Utah. Reared and educated at Samaria, he was a farm laborer by occupation. A veteran of World War II. Mr. Smith married Ella Mae Lyons in North Carolina.

Survivors include his widow and three step-sons: Paul, Richard and Dallas Knott, all of Samaria; six brothers and one sister: Mrs. S. V. (May) Williams, Malad; Elmer Smith, Imola, California; Leon Smith, Napa, Calif., Charlie Smith, Woodland, Calif.; LaVern Smith, Malad; Marion Smith, San Lorenzo, Calif.; Veon Smith, Salt Lake City, Utah.
