Lila Mae Williams Fallows

FALLOWS, LILA MAE WILLIAMS, February 15, 1940 – July 9, 1962

Funeral services for Mrs. Lila Mae Williams Fallows, 22, who died unexpectedly July 9, 1962 at Montgomery, Alabama of suffocation due to throat blockage caused by a tumor, were held at Malad First LDS Ward chapel with Bishop C. Howard Neal officiating.

Family prayer at the home was offered by Bob Oswald. At the chapel, the prelude and postlude music was played by Emma Ward. The speakers were Bishop Neal, Pres. S.A. Hendricks and Bishop Hunt, Harvard Ward, Salt Lake City. The invocation was by Bert O. Marble and the benediction by Brent Probst. Musical numbers included a vocal duet, Lois Call and Connie D. Budge; recording of a vocal solo by Albert Fallows singing with the Tabernacle choir. Accompanist was Mary Louise Peden.

Concluding rites were at the Malad City Cemetery with William H. Rutter offering the dedicatory prayer. Casket bearers were Clyde Williams, Brent Williams, Dan Fallows, Richard Fallows, Arch Sonntag and BerNon Neal.

Benson Funeral Home assisted in arranging the services and directed the burial.

Mrs. Fallows was born Feb. 15, 1940 at Malad, a daughter of David G. and Cora Wilson Williams. She graduated from Malad High School and attended Ricks College at Rexburg for one year. She also attended beautician’s school in Salt Lake City and was a licensed beauty operator.

She served a mission for the LDS Church in the Eastern Atlantic mission in 1961.

She was married to Thomas E. Fallows January 4, 1962 in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple. She went to Montgomery two months ago to be with her husband, who is in the Air Force.

Surviving are her parents; a grandmother, Mrs. George Wilson, Roy, UT; a brother, Victor Williams, Salt Lake City and four sisters, Mrs. Beverly Rose and Mrs. Marle Ahlstrom, both of Magna, UT; Mrs. Margene Wood, Fayetteville, ND, and Mrs. Gena Oswald, Idaho Falls.
