GODDARD, LILA CARSON

Funeral services were held at the Malad LDS Third Ward Chapel for Lila Carson Goddard, 67, who died at the Oneida County Hospital on August 15, 1982.

Bishop Garth Sweeten officiated at the services and burial was in the Malad City Cemetery.

Mrs. Goddard was born September 25, 1914 in Provo, a daughter of John F. and Elgy Della Strange Carson. Spending her earl life in Provo, she then lived 20 years at McGill, NV, where she was graduated from high school.

She married Frederick Goddard on July 27, 1937 in Ely, Nevada. They later moved to Salt Lake City for a short time and had lived in Malad for 33 years. Mr. Goddard died March 16, 1981.

Mrs. Goddard was active in the LD Church where she worked as a dance director in the Primary, Relief Society and Sunday School as a teacher.

Survivors include six sons and two daughters, Fred Ferron, Shelley; Thomas C., New York, NY; Jack Carson, Heyburn; Lee Gene, Pocatello; Dan C., Culdesac; Larry Rick, Malad; Mrs. James L. (Ruth Ann) Jones, Morenci, AZ; and Mrs. Richard (Elgy Della) Rogers, Fallon, NV; 18 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; three step great grandchildren; two brothers, Don and John, both of Ely, NV; and three sisters, Mrs. George (LaVerne) Cobb, Ely, NV; Mrs. Shirly (Lea) Hendry, Salt Lake City, and Mrs. Norman (Gean) Bath, Oren, UT.

Funeral arrangements were by Benson Horsley Funeral Home, Malad.
