Levi B. Ekstrom

EKSTROM, LEVI B., November 28, 1898 – March 11, 1976

Levi B. Ekstrom, 77, died Saturday in the Marsh Valley Hospital following a long illness and funeral services were held Tuesday at noon in the Pleasantview LDS Chapel.

Burial services were in Logan, Utah Cemetery. Benson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Ekstrom was born November 28, 1898 at Beaver Dam, Utah, to John Albert and Annie Bunting Ekstrom. He married Emma Hendrickson August 1, 1920 in Preston. She died October 5, 1962.

A farmer and a miner, Mr. Ekstrom was a member of the LDS Church, veteran of World War I, and a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Survivors include four sons, John M., Lancaster, CA; Grant L. and Jay B., both of Pocatello, and E. Albert, Malad; four daughters, Mrs. Edward (Gloria) Davis, Malad; Mrs. Farren (Pearl) Hunsaker, Arimo; Mrs. Melvin (Hazel) Clark, Pocatello, and Mrs. Dixie Sanchez, Caldwell; 34 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Pleasantview Bishop Merlin S. Bastian presided at the services which included family prayer, Ferrin Hunsaker; prelude, postlude music, Patsy Bybee; invocation, Joseph Ekstrom; vocal, Kenneth Williams; obituary, Bob Ekstrom; talks, Bishop Leo Brown; Bishop John Roderick; poem composed by Rosella Smith, Kenna Smith; vocal, Leora Brown; benediction, Joe May; dedicatory prayer, Grant Ekstrom. Iris Blaisdell was the accompanist and flowers were carried by the Pleasantview Relief Society, Iris Blaisdell, president.

Military honors were by the Ernest W. Jones Post of the American Legion and casket bearers were Grant Ekstrom, John Ekstrom, Jay Ekstrom, Albert Ekstrom, Melvin Clark and Edward Davis.
