FUNERAL MONDAY FOR LESTER TOVEY

Funeral services for Lester M. Tovey, 64, Blackfoot, who died July 8, 1966 at a Blackfoot hospital, were held Monday at Malad 2nd Ward LDS Chapel with Bishop Gareth Ogden, Blackfoot 8th LDS Ward officiating.

The family prayer at the Benson Funeral Home was by Terrell R. Tovey. At the chapel, the speaker was Bishop Ogden; life sketch, Homer Williams; vocal solo, Carol Daniels; vocal, Don and Carol Eliason, Wells and Marsha Willie; invocation, Rex Reynolds; benediction C.F. Weaver; organ prelude and postlude, Winifred Tovey Alldaffer; accompanists, Myra Jean John and Iris Hill.

The concluding rites were at the Malad City Cemetery with Weldon R. Tovey offering the dedicatory prayer. Flowers were carried by the St. John Ward Relief Society and Blackfoot 8th Ward Relief Society.

Casket Bearers were Morgan Tovey, Jr., John D. Tovey, Roger Tovey, Keith Tovey, Gordon Reynolds, Kenneth Lusk.

Mr. Tovey was born May 27, 1902 at Malad, a son of David W. and Mary Ann Jardine Tovey. He was a graduate of Malad High School.

He married Edith Reynolds Oct. 18, 1923 at Malad. He was a farmer and trucker in Malad and a well known musician. He moved to Lake Chatcolet as state park coordinator for Idaho in 1952. In 1959 he moved to Blackfoot, where he was office supervisor for the State Highway Department.

He is survived by his widow; 14 children, Mrs. Bill (Edith Muriel) McHugh and Mrs. Bob (Kay) Harrison of Pocatello; L. Marion Tovey of Idaho Falls; Terrel R. Tovey and Paul Tovey of Blackfoot; DeForest Tovey of Wiesbaden, Germany; Mrs. Kent (Marialice) Nielson and Paula Tovey of Salt Lake Cityp; Mrs. Herb (Sandra) Fritzley of Homedale; Mrs. L.A. (Jackie) Riley of spokane; Weldon R. Tovey of Moscow; David Berthal Tovey of Provo; Linda Tovey of Los Angeles; and Mrs. McKay (Leslie) Dunn of Las Vegas; 40 grandchildren; one brother, Morgan W. Tovey, Sr. of Malad.
