FUNERAL MONDAY FOR LEO W. TOVEY, AGE 65
Funeral services were conducted Monday at Malad Second LDS Ward Chapel for Leo W. Tovey, age 65, who died at his home February 7, 1974 of a heart attack.
Mr. Tovey was born here August 4, 1908, a son of George and Sarah E. Peck Tovey. He married Norma Hutteball in March, 1928 at Malad. She died in 1934. He married Mildred hall Owens in June, 1973 at Ogden. He had worked at Venice, California as a roofer for 33 years. He returned to Malad in 1971.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, Gordon, Dallas, TX; Keith, Paradise, CA; 12 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, brother, J.C. Tovey, Boise.
Bishop Gordon Crowther officiated and read the obituary. Bishop W.W. Thomas was the speaker. Family prayer was offered by Gary Owens; invocation by Tommy Thorpe and benediction by Verlin Allen. Barbara Call sang two solos, accompanied by Myra Jean John. Mrs. John also played prelude and postlude music.
Wayne Kent offered the dedicatory prayer at Malad City Cemetery. Malad Second Ward Relief Society was in charge of the flowers.
Casket bearers were Harold “Brig” Thomas, Loyal “Wolf” Lewis, DeVere Tovey, Robert Owens, Gary Owens and David Owens.
Benson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
