Former Malad Man Crushed To Death When Truck Falls
Funeral services will be conducted at the Malad Stake Bldg. Friday at 1 p.m. for Leland Madsen, 47, who was killed at Patterson, Idaho, Monday, June 17, 1963 afternoon when crushed underneath a truck. A beam, which was supporting the truck on which Mr. Madsen was working, broke and allowed the vehicle to fall.
He was born Aug. 1, 1915, at Malad, a son of Frank O. and Mary Ann Dalton Madsen.
He spent his early life in Malad and in 1949 moved to Patterson. He was married to Virginia Dickson in September, 1939. He had engaged in farming and ranching, was a member of the LDS Church.
Surviving are his widow of Patterson; the following sons and daughters: Mrs. Victor Simmons of Othello, Wash.; Gary Madsen, Keith Madsen, Kenneth Madsen and Sandra Rae Madsen, all of Patterson; eight brothers and sisters, Clifford Madsen, Reed Madsen and Mrs. Charles (Faye) Ward, all of Malad; Ray Madsen, Pocatello, Idaho; Dee Madsen, Aberdeen, Idaho; Boyd Madsen, Hayward, Calif., DeWayne Madsen, Seattle, Wash.; Mrs. T.B. (Ruby) Merrill, Riverton, Utah, one grandchild.
Friends may call at the Benson Funeral Home tonight from 7 to 9:30 and Friday until services. Burial in the Malad City Cemetery.
