Leda Jones

Leda Jones, 4 August 1903

Leda Jones, 92, Blackfoot, died July 2, 1996 at Bingham County Extended Care Facility from natural causes.

She was born August 4, 1903 in Samaria, ID, the daughter of David James and Mary Ann Waldron Hughes.

She married S. Diawn (Dee) Jones in Samaria on June 3, 1920. He preceded her in death on January 7, 1963.

Leda was a member of the LDS Church. She worked at the Parsons Hospital as a nurses aid for many years and as a cook at Bingham Memorial Hospital for several years.

She loved horses, sewing and cooking. She is survived by seven sons: Claude Jones, Pocatello; Vern Jones, San Diego, CA; Eldon Jones, Leo Jones, Robert R. Jones, Terrel Jons and Earl G. Jones, all of Blackfoot; three daughters: Mrs. Virgin John (Leanore) Armstrong, Lovell, WY; Mrs. Howard W. (Theona) Davis and Betty Ranae Jones, both of Blackfoot; one brother, Ralph Hughes, Samaria; two half brothers, Henery Richards, St. George, UT and Edward Richards, Utah; two sisters, Mary Towe, Idaho Falls; and Elizabeth Ballard, Salt Lake City, UT; a half sister, Delora Morse, California; 37 grandchildren; 78 great grandchildren and 21 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; three sons, Derl Jons and two infant sons; two daughters: LaRue Adams and Connie Jones; one sister; three half sisters and one brother.

Funeral services were held July 6, 1996 at Blackfoot. Interment was in the Grove City Cemetery.
