Blackpine-Lars Victor “Vic” Anderson, 77, of Black Pine, died Tuesday, August 10 at his home following a long illness.

He was born July 21, 1916 in Ogden, Utah , a son of Lars and Thekla Stronberg Anderson. He
grew up and was educated in Corinne and Black Pine.

He married Elva Richards May 10, 1942, and the marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. She died March 8, 1976. He married Joyce Richards June 11, 1976 in the Ogden LDS Temple, and she died August 12, 1991.

As a young man, he had served during World War II in the Army as a Military Policeman. For many years he had farmed and ranched in Stone and Black Pine and had also owned and operated
Anderson’s Service Station in Snowville.

He was a member of the LDS Church and had served as Young Men Advisor, Elder’s Quorum President , High Priest Group Leader and Instructor.

Mr. Anderson is survived by four sons and spouses: Kenneth nad Kathy Anderson of Pensicola, Florida; Wynn and Kathy Anderson of Fruitland, Idaho; Timothy Wayne and Robyn Anderson of Black Pine; and Keith J. Anderson of Stone. Also surviving are twentysix grandchildren, eight great-grandchildre; two brothers: Elmer Anderson of Snowville and Arvid Anderson of Littlefield, Arizona; three sisters: Evelyn Jensen of Rupert; Thelma Higley of Littlefield, Arizona; and Ruth Robbins of Stone. He was preceded in death by his parents, wives, two sons and one sister.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 14 at 1:00 p.m. In the Curlew LDS Ward Chapel in
Snowville, Utah, with Bishop Michael Morgan officiating.

Friends may call at the Benson-Horsley Funeral Home on Friday from 7:00-9:00 p.m. And on Saturday at the church from 11:30 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. Burial will be in the Snowville Cemetery, with
Military Rites by the American Legion, Ernest W. Jones Post #65.

132 W. 300 N., Malad, on Friday, Aug. 13, from 7 p.m. To 9 p.m., and on Saturday at the church
from 11:30 a.m., to 12:45 p.m. Burial will be in the Snowville Cemetery, with military rites. A full obituary will appear in a later edition of The Idaho State Journal.
