Kolby M Olsen, 38- beloved father, son, brother and friend passed away on December 15, 2013. Kolby was born November 26, 1975, son of Randal E. and Peggy Monson Olsen in Bountiful, Utah. The family moved to Malad, Idaho in 1984 where he later graduated from Malad High. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Kolby was active in the scouting program and achieved the rank of an Eagle Scout. As a youth, he enjoyed playing soccer, as well as many musical instruments – piano, clarinet and guitar. He had a great love of music and singing. Kolby enjoyed spending time in the outdoors camping, fishing and hunting. He had a great talent for computer programming and software development, most of which was self-taught.
On July 20, 1996, he married Lynette Zook. They were blessed with two beautiful daughters, Alexis 17 and Hanna 15. They later divorced. Kolby remained a devoted and loving father. His girls were his everything.
He is survived by his parents- Randy and Peggy Olsen, two brothers – Collin and Dustin Olsen, and three sisters- Tiffany Bodily, Ashley Anderson, and Chelsea Butikofer, as well as his two daughters Alexis and Hanna Olsen.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 23, 2013, at 12 noon in the Malad LDS Stake Center. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Horsley Funeral Home, 132 W 300 N, and again at the funeral home on Monday morning from 10:30-11:30 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Malad City Cemetery.
