Keith W. Facer

FACER, KEITH W., January 17, 1912 – May 18, 1983

Keith W. Facer, 71, died Monday night at Pocatello Regional Medical Center after a long illness. He was born January 17, 1912 at Cherry Creek to James A. and Rozilla Dalton Facer.

On February 20, 1937 he married Neva M. Gleed at Malad.

Mr. Facer farmed and ranched in the Malad area for years before moving to Pocatello in the spring of 1940, where he was employed by Morrison Knudson during construction of the Navl Ordinance Plant. He was later employed as a machinist at Union Pacific Railroad, retiring July 5, 1975.

Mr. Facer also farmed the Facer Mountain area, which is named for him. Among his many interests were fishing, hunting and gardening.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Survivors include his wife, Pocatello; five sons, Norman K. Facer, Anchorage, Alaska; and Dennis J. and Rick L. Facer, both of Pocatello; a daughter, Karen Rumsey, Pocatello; four brothers, Raymond Facer, Salt Lake City, UT; Karl Facer, Preston; Howard Facer, Salt Lake City; UT and Evan Facer, Ogden, UT; three sisters, Melba Lewis, Salt Lake City, UT; Mable Clark, Malad; and Mary Nielson, Malad; 15 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services were held Friday at the Pocatello LDS Third Ward Chapel with Bishop John Tanner officiating. Burial was in the Malad cemetery.
