SERVICES HELD AT POCATELLO FOR JULIAN J. THOMAS
Funeral services were held Tuesday at Pocatello for Julian J. Thomas, 65, a former Malad resident, who died October 7, 1972 in the Bannock Memorial Hospital after an illness.
Interment was at Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Thomas was born Dec. 9, 1906 in Malad, a son of George Walter and Mary Jones Thomas. He married Rebecca Durgin on Aug. 27, 1935 in Blackfoot.
Mr. Thomas lived in Malad until 1928 when he moved to Pocatello. He was employed by Union Pacific Railroad for several years, then worked in construction and as a mechanic. He had worked at Bistline’s Idaho Lumber and Hardware, and from 1958 until 1970, he was employed in the Bannock County Highway Dept. shops where he was foreman when he retired in 1970.
He was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Mr. Thomas was a fisherman and hunter. He particularly enjoyed the Island Park country. He also enjoyed working in his yard, gardening and flowers.
Surviving are his widow; two sons, Gary and Don, Pocatello; a daughter, Mrs. Morris (Norma) Bunce, Pocatello; a granddaughter, Michelle Thomas, Pocatello; and a sister, Mrs. Ed B. (Lula) Jones of Malad.
