Services Thursday For Josiah Price

Funeral services will be conducted at the Malad Third LDS Ward Chapel Thursday at 1 p.m. for Josiah “Cy” Price, 72, who died Sunday [April 21, 1963] at the Oneida Hospital after a short illness. Bishop Lon Corbridge will officiate.

Mr. Price was born May 12, 1890 at Malad, a son of John William and Sarah Millie Richardson Price.

He married Beatrice S. Jones, December 15, 1909, in the Logan LDS Temple. He was an active member of the LDS Church through his life, being a High Priest; a former first and second counselor in the First Ward bishopric; Sunday School superintendency, second counselor in the MIA; Scoutmaster and Scout executive board member; first Boy Scout troop committeeman of the Malad Stake; three years as a Malad Stake missionary; secretary of the High Priest group.

Mr. Price was a night watchman for the Malad Police Dept., Oneida County road overseer, WPA foreman, school bus driver and former custodian of the LaGrande Hall.

Survivors include his widow, Malad; six sons and four daughters: Earl, Downey; Ralph, Dale, Marion, Ronald, Malad; Stanley, Pocatello; Mrs. Ross (Pearl) Kelly, Urbana, Illinois; Mrs. LeRoy Goucher, Mrs. George (Shirley) Fry, Ogden; Mrs. Oliver (Carol) Bake, Garfield, Idaho; 34 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; three brothers and four sisters, Albert, Blackfoot; Edward, Parma; John W., Mrs. Margaret Hughes, Mrs. Harvey (Catherine) Jones, Mrs. David E. (Settie) Jones, Mrs. Heber (Millie) Evans, Malad.

MALAD, IDAHO — Josiah (Cy) Price, 72, died Sunday in a Malad hospital after an illness. Born May 12, 1890, Malad, to John William and Sarah Richardson Price. Married to Beatrice S. Jones, Dec. 15, 1909, Logan Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Active member, LDS Church. Former employe, Malad Police Department. School bus driver. SERVICES HELD THURSDAY FOR JOSIAH “CY” PRICE

Funeral services were conducted Thursday at the Malad Third LDS Ward Chapel for Josiah “Cy” Price, 72, who died Sunday at the Oneida Hospital. Bishop Lon W. Corbridge officiated.

At the home, family prayer was *ames Vaughan. At the chapel, prelude and postlude music was by Ruth C. Davis with invocation by D. LeRoy Thomas, Speakers were William Rutter, Ralph Harding and Jesse Hughes who gave the obituary. Musical numbers were a vocal solo, Eldon Corbridge; vocal trio, Wanda Edwards, Miriel Dredge, Helen Jones; vocal solo, Jenkin L. Palmer. Accompanists were Cherrel Budge and Myra Jean John. Benediction was by Henry Gleed.

Concluding rites were conducted at the Malad City Cemetery where Ross Kelly offered the dedicatory prayer.

Flowers were carried by granddaughters with the Third Ward Relief Society supervising.

Services were under the direction of the Benson Funeral Home.

Casket bearers were sons, Earl, Ralph, Dale, Marion, Ronald and Stanley Price.
