FUNERAL SERVICES HELD FOR JOSEPH SAWYER

Funeral services were held T***day at 12 o’clock at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. D. Thomas for Joseph Sawyer with Bishop Junius Crowther presiding.

Invocation was offered by Bert D. Call and the benediction by Richard J. Evans, The speakers were John G. Evans, J. H. Dredge and Bishop Crowther. Musical numbers were furnished by Thos. Jones, Emma Ward and June Ward. Wm. D. Thomas dedicated the grave.

D. J. Thomas came up from Provo for the funeral.

Services Held For Joseph Sawyer

Funeral services for Joseph Sawyer, 82, who died Monday, October 7, were held today at noon at the home of his niece, Mrs. William D. Thomas, with whom he has made his home for the past few years.

Mr. Sawyer was born March 27, 1864 at London, England, the son of William and Ann Cohen Sawyer. At the age of six he came to America with his parents and lived in Ogden, where his father died. His mother and her family came to Malad, where they made their home. He and his two brothers, Hyrum and Enoch, worked as carpenters and contractors.

He was the last member of the family to pass away.
