JOSEPH H. THOMAS DIED THIS MORNING

Joseph H. Thomas, 79, died at his home in Malad on February 9, 1948 of ailments incident to old age. Funeral arrangements have not yet been made.

Mr. Thomas, a lifelong resident of Malad Valley, was born at Malad, Sept. 19, 1868, the son of Fred and Ruth Thomas. He was married to Emily Rees at Malad, February 5, 1889. Mr. Thomas was a farmer in the Daniels section for many years and since his retirement he had made his home in Malad.

He is survived by his widow and the following sons and daughters: Leo Thomas, Salt lake City; Mrs. Ethel Gibbons, Declo; Leonard Thomas, Blackfoot; Mrs. Leone Brown, Palo Alto, CA; Mrs. Emma Andrews, Eureka, UT; Mrs. Ruth Curtis, Mrs. Edna Wale, Ogden; Margaret Cole of Michigan; Wm. R. Thomas of Malad; six sisters, Mrs. Ruth Goddard, Mrs. Mary Jane Jones, Mrs. Eliza Waldron, Mrs. Janet Thorpe, Mrs. Lilly Caldwell, Malad; Mrs. Esther Bowen, American Fork; one brother, D.P. Thomas, Malad; 34 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Four children preceded Mr. Thomas in death.
