Funeral Services held for John Saxton
John Saxton, 91, died June 4 at his home in Lava Hot Springs following an extended illness.
He was born to Aaron and Betsy Cutler Saxton on January 7, 1892 in Annis. He married Geraldine North on April 1, 1914. She died in March of 1948. On July 3, 1956 he married Alice Larsen in Turner.
For 27 years Mr. Saxton lived in Lava Hot Springs where he owned and operated a small farm. Also he had worked for a service station in Lava Hot Springs and was a ditch rider for the Lava Irrigation Company. He had worked on construction of the Palisades Dam.
Survivors include his wife, Lava Hot Springs; two sons, John Bernard Saxton, Oroville, Calif.; and Allan Roy Saxton, Pocatello; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held today, Wednesday, at 1 p.m. at the Lava Hot Springs LDS Chapel with Bishop Maynard Mangelson officiating. The family will receive friends at the Manning Funeral Chapel one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Turner Cemetery.
