John Rigby
John Rigby, 64, of Magna, watchman at the Utah Copper company plant, died Monday [1940] at 11:55 p.m. in a Salt Lake hospital of undetermined but natural causes.
He was born in Porterville, Utah, February 22, 1876, a son of Samuel and Margaret Duncan Rigby.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Alice Rachael Chapman Rigby; four sons, John W. and Vordes L. Rigby of Salt Lake City, Russell L. Rigby of Garfield and Eldon Ray Rigby of Magna; three daughters, Mrs. James W. Fitches of Salt Lake City and Mrs. Eva La Fran and Mrs. Pete Platt of Las Vegas, Nev.; four brothers, Arch and Alfred Rigby of Layton, William Rigby of Centerville and Aaron Rigby of Preston, Idaho; two sisters, Mrs. Ben Brown of Centerville and Mrs. William Rose of Glenns Ferry, Idaho, and 17 grandchildren.

Services for John Rigby of Magna, age 64, husband of Alice Rachel Chapman Rigby, will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Pleasant Green ward chapel. Bishop Coon officiating. Friends may call at 36 East 7th So. until Wednesday afternoon at 4 p.m., and at the family residence in Magna Wednesday after 6 p.m., and Thursday prior to services. Funeral directors, Deseret mortuary.
