JOHN R. RODGERS

BLACKFOOT – John R. Rodgers, 70, 212 Alexander, died at his home Tuesday [March 30, 1982] after a long illness.

He was born Aug. 13, 1911, at Howell, to Joseph and Ida Larsen Rodgers. He lived in Howell for 59 years before moving to Tetonia. He came to Blackfoot in 1977. He married Erma Wieland June 22, 1934. He was an expert with horses, cattle and sheep and worked as ranch foreman for the Little Land and Livestock Co. for more than 33 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Blackfoot, a son, David Rodgers, ranching near Mackay; four sisters, Mrs. Hyrum (Lilly) Wright, Ontario, Ore.; Mrs. Hazel Williams, Lewsiton; Mrs. Elizabeth Wymur, Pomona, Calif., and Mrs. Ester Moronis, Riley; one brother, Harvey Rodgers, Chula Vista, Calif.; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Packham Mortuary Funeral Chapel with Bishop Dale L. Arave officiating Cremation services will follow.

Friends may call at the mortuary today and the family will be at the funeral home for one hour prior to services on Friday.
