WITTMAN, JOHN PAUL – August 11, 1930 – November 9, 2003

POCATELLO – John Paul Wittman passed away Sunday, November 9, 2003 at Portneuf Long Term Care Center surrounded by loving family and caregivers.

He was the youngest of six children born to Edward F. and Paula Apollonia Roth Pagel Wittman on August 11, 1930 in Lewiston, Idaho.

He served in the Army as a mechanic; being stationed in both France and Germany. Upon his return, he attended school at Idaho State University and studied diesel mechanics, where he met the love of his life, Grace Marlene Hill. They were married August 11, 1957 and were the proud parents of six children: John Wittman (Susan) of malad, Alexia Wittman of Pocatello, Paula Wittman of Pocatello, Heidi Cookson (Mark) of Saco, Maine, Susan Dominguez (Tony) of Pocatello and Wan Wittman (Erika) of Burley.

Paul was an auto mechanic in Pocatello, Malad and Tremonton, Utah for many years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and most of all, spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed his 15 and 8/9 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Marlene (Nov. 10, 1981), his loving parents and his parents-in-law, John and Grace Hill. He was also preceded in death by his brother Richard and a sister, Magda. He is survived by his six children; 15 and 8/9 grandchildren; his brother, Edward Wittman and two sisters, Rose Older and Sue Conover.

The memorial services will be at noon Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2003 at the Horsley Funeral Home, Malad, ID.
