JOHN NEAL
McCAMMON – John Neal, 62, of McCammon and formerly of Malad, beloved husband, father and friend, returned to his Father in Heaven on September 19, 2000. He died of injuries sustained in a horseback riding accident.

He was born Oct. 11, 1937, in Malad, Idaho, a son of Archie Levi and Letha Frances Tubbs Neal. He was raised and educated in Holbrook and Malad. John served an LDS mission to the southern states.

On June 16, 1961, he married Mary Louise Hertzog in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple.

John farmed on the family farm near Holbrook and it was there that he and Mary raised their five children. John had also sold insurance for a living. For the past 15 years he and Mary had resided in McCammon.

John had a great love for the outdoors. He enjoyed riding horses, hunting, fishing, camping, vacationing and yard work. All these activities were enjoyed more if done with family and friends.

John will always be remembered as a family man, and because he loved his relatives, he attended every family reunion he possibly could.

He is survived by his wife of McCammon; two sons, Lowell (Jeanne) Neal of Garland, Utah, David (Tabitha) Neal of Fielding, Utah; three daughters, Vonda (Larry) Bowen of Thatcher, Utah, Robbie (Mike) Miller of Wellsville, Utah, Louisa (Allan) Joy of Fielding, Utah; 24 grandchildren; two brothers, Bernon (Janice) Neal of Salina, Utah, Tim (Jackie) Neal of Malad; four sisters, LaRona Anderson of Orem, Utah, Bardonna Zollinger of Orem, Ilene (David) England of Orem, Diane (Tom) Chivers. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Lamont and Lowell, one brother-in-law, Lincoln Zollinger, one son-in-law, Peter K. Miller, and two nieces, Melissa Neal and Melinda Neal.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2000, at noon in the McCammon LDS Stake Chapel. Friends may call at Horsley’s Marsh Valley Funeral Home, 570 N. Meadowview Drive, Arimo, this evening. Friday, September 22, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and on Saturday at the church from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Malad City Cemetery at 4 p.m.
