
McNALLY, JOHN H., August 7, 1916 – March 28, 2008
OGDEN – John H. McNally, our loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away March 28, 2008 at age 91. He was born in Pocatello, ID August 7, 1916 to Frances and Leona McNally. At age 14 he went to work to help support his widowed mother and seven brothers and sisters.
John married Hazel Mansfield of Samaria, ID in Pocatello on August 24, 1935 and they were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. They lived in Bend, OR and Salt Lake City before moving to Ogden.
John retired from the Ogden Union Railroad & Depot after serving many years as Yard Master.
John spent countless hours with his two sons, John Conley and Mike, golfing, fishing and gardening.
He was a patient and kind man spending many hours watching Sesame Street and playing school with his grand children, Brian and Heather.
Surviving are his wife of 72 years, Hazel, sons John Conley McNally and Michael F. McNally (Judi) of Ogden, grandchildren Brian McNally of Salt Lake City, great-grandson Anthony McDonald of Roy; and one brother, Vincent McNally of Washington, and a special brother and sister-in-law, Calvin and Mary Mansfield of Salt Lake City.
There will be a graveside service at Washington Heights Memorial Park, Ogden, Utah. Services are under the direction of Leavitt’s Mortuary.
